This money has contributed towards:

  • Oldham Sports Development – Sports coaches teach P.E. national curriculum to early years, KS1 and KS2.(£5000)
  • 2 x Peripatetic football coaches to teach across KS2. (£2000)
  • Freddy Fit to teach across the whole school at various times throughout the year. (£600)
  • MCFC sports coach to deliver sports and multi skills across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. (2500)

  • Transport for pupils to attend sports competitions.
  • Sports equipment has been provided for playtimes and lunch times to encourage children to develop skills and play together.

Impact:

  • The sports coaches have worked alongside teachers in order to deliver a curriculum presented with a wide range of physical exercise and games, which in turn allows us to offer our children many opportunities to develop skills and excel in physical exercise. E.g. Dance club, football, dodgeball, basketball, athletics, swimming, football, tag rugby and cricket.
  • The football coach has taught across classes and developed the level of football being played in school, resulting in successes at our footballing events in the community.
  • Our extra-curricular sports clubs are planned to allow children to develop sports skills, team work, confidence and social skills. E.g. Dance club, football, dodgeball, basketball and athletics.
  • The Freddy Fit sessions have demonstrated and have given the children an understanding of a healthy lifestyle including parent sessions to discuss the importance of healthy lunch boxes.
  • CPD opportunities have allowed the P.E. co-ordinator to work with the whole school staff during twilight sessions and model lessons for various parts of the P.E. curriculum.
  • Links with other local primary schools and secondary schools are very strong and we are involved in interschool competitions and sporting events throughout the year. The number of competitions we are involved in doubled during the academic year. E.g. football tournaments for both boys and girls, tag rugby, athletics, dance platforms.

      Area for Development:

  • Continue to work along side coaches and PE co-ordinates' to develop knowledge and skills and increase confidence.
  • Improve whole school assessment of Physical Education.
  • Identify key groups of children to participate in additional sports activities (e.g. Wake and Shake, extra curriculum)
